I grew up in the beautiful small town of Heidelberg in Gauteng, which attracted a few well-known artists, writers and poets. In fact, Minnie Postma and later Wille Martin, both accomplished writers, were my next-door neighbours.  The AG Visser residence, at that stage already a museum, was just around the corner from my home.  No wonder I have an intense enthusiasm for poetry and reading.  Heidelberg is also known for its prepossessing architecture and Suikerbosrand landscapes, where we had free range to play as kids.

I studied Social Science and Business Management at Unisa. I worked in retail for eleven years, ten of those as branch manager for several flagship stores - an excellent environment to learn customer centricity and the power of brands in retail.  In 2002 I made the decision to spread my wings and venture into the aviation industry.  Once bitten by the aviation bug, you are hooked. Although I am not a pilot, I am surrounded by pilots and the aviation industry, all day, every day, something I truly thrive in!

Marketing is my passion, there are two reasons why I love marketing - it is all about people and creative thinking. Visualising the result of a product or project and seeing it come to fruition is extremely rewarding.  Marketing is engaging, evolving, entertaining and empowering, it keeps you on your toes and you get to meet and interact with equally passionate individuals.

I am actively involved in youth development projects and by introducing the youth to aviation is a very important investment into the future.

I am the General Manager of Blue Chip Flight School, assisting with marketing at FlyJetstream Aviation and I am also part of the Exco group for FlyJetstream Aviation and Blue Chip Flight School.

Customers are the heartbeat of all businesses, therefore forming long-lasting, meaningful relationships is vital to any organization's success, when engaging in business with a client it is important to put yourselves in the person’s shoes and provide the same level of service that you would expect.

Striving for excellence is an important part of professionalism in any position.

We as a team believe in achieving excellence through total commitment.

Excellence is about stepping outside the comfort zone, about going that extra mile, about going above and beyond and doing more than what is expected and no matter how good you are there is always room for improvement.

After 15 years of managerial experience in the aviation industry, I still learn and grow every day and I have so much more to offer.

What do I do when I am not at work? I enjoy cooking, painting furniture and am a self-proclaimed interior decorator. I am a mother of three beautiful children and I have two cats and a very mischievous, energetic 9 months old Swiss Shephard puppy by the name of Lilly.

Fun fact:  Coca-Cola would be green if colouring wasn’t added to it.
